Is there a difference in a tubaflex worm and frozen bloodworms cubes for really small fish? Does one help fish grow faster than another one, kind of like frozen beefhearts cubes are supposed to help fish grow quicker due to the high protien count..

Ive used both, personally I like using the tubeflex worms better because they are actually alive so the fish seem to prefer them. Also tubeflex worms can be kept in a feeder net-thingy so theyre released at a low but constant rate to prevent them from getting into your substrate and creating more nitrates. Besides that I dont think theres much difference and I doubt one significantly boosts a fish's growth more then the other

Yeah I didn't even know they came frozen, my LFS sells them by the ounce alive. Their gross little things but fun to feed

petsmart& my lfs sell both frozen tubifex, glass,&bloodworm cubes in refrigerators. you can buy them on websites that carry frozen food like petsolutions or something~ in my experience the bloodworms are always more favored by everything, and bloodworms tend to make everyone fat right after feeding. beefheart isn't always easily digested by some fish, but in the long run i've never done any extensive growth research so i'm not sure about food/growth-rate. regardless, a varied diet is best! perhaps buying a culture of white-worms might help out :>

Tubifex worms are more likely to carry diseases than bloodworms

I use tubiflex an have used frozen but if you use frozen for me im lazy an dnt wanna scoop the dead ones out can get dirty. I dnt mind having tubiflex i know its not good for the tank but the fish can eat when every they want an i leave for the week end alot so they have food in there. I useallly a like a cup in there put the worms in but some always get out. havent had any prob with diseases that i no of tho
