so ive busted 2 laptops in less than two years, between me and the kids they just get mangled. currently ive got mine plugged into the tv because ive shattered the screen dropping it(again).

so i need some suggestions for some serious heavy duty laptops that can take being dropped, hit, etc.. because im tired of buying a new one every 8 months. either that or im buying the $350 walmart cheapo from now on.

only thing we use the comp for is the interwebs and storing pictures.

your looking for something like what is in this list http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=rugged+laptops&hl=en
i know its a uk shopping list but im sure some of the brands will be availible to you. i googled "rugged laptops".

a review i watched on an expensive one and from experience of some ive used when i was in the military showed that you will need an external mouse as the pads are hard to use because they are built to survive just about anything. price can also be a limiting factor as they are generally expensive.

Panasonic toughbook are the industry and military standard. But pricey. Often time there leased and two year old ones come up for sale often.

Mattel the toy company makes a netbook, with an encased screen and spillproof keyboard. $400 check toys r us.

thinkpads have gyroscopes to stop all moving parts when sudden motion changes occur.

Toshibia also makes some beasty laptops.
