Tumor on my Dat?

Any ideas what this is or how to treat it?
I have been away on vacation, and TheFishWrestler has been looking after my Dats. The bump developed on Wednesday; and got worse this morning, (sunday). (TFW, please feel free to add or correct me).

I moved him to his own hospital tank this afternoon, raised the temp to 81* added salt and melafix. His colors became stable immediately and he ate the first time i offered food.

I am terrible at diagnosing and treating my fish, any and all help is greatly appreciated, thanks. :)

I think there was a thread about a bump.. hmm.. something like "parasite sticking out of my dat" and som guy had a similar looking bump and when they opened there was a long disgusting worm in it..

that thread is at most 2 weeks old..

I my self am not sure as I havent seen it first hand, maybe something is stuck in its throat?
 
I didnt see any worms or anything like that, but I will check again.
and i will see if i can take a look at his throat from the inside this evening.
 
Get it taken care of-
I losta thin bar to what people here were calling dats disease...Basically just three bumps that appeared on my guy and led to his death-----A few people here had some good info-And I bel;ieve a few have even cured this problem....Be patient and hopefully they will chime in sooner than later for ya...

do you have any links to these threads? i'm at work and on MFK on my phone, its quite an ordeal to search right now.
 
just got home from work; The bump is just slightly larger than yesterday.

any body have any good tips on how to get a fish to let you take a look down its throat?
