Tried posting this under the diseases and illness section, but nobody had any input there. Anyways, I've been keeping his water parameters in pristine condition as well as keeping the temp at 86 degrees. Although the tumors have gone down a fair amount, they seem to just be lingering now. Besides keeping the water in tip top shape, what else could I do to help these go down? Oh, and those are bubbles from my HOB filters, not debris. Any input would be great.

Thanks

one of my yellowtails has this same problem. has had it 4 about 6 months, besides the cosmetic downside it hasnt really effected his overall health. matter of fact he is one of 7 I keep and has grown the most. look at it as a pretty chick with a little acne problem.

Exactly! He eats like a pig, swims around fine and doesn't look to be in any sort of pain. I'll just buy him some Proactive and see how he looks in a week ;)

Thanks for the input, everyone!

Tumors and Cancers in fish are more often then not genetic defects, serious infections can cause tumors but I'd suspect most fish never survive that serious of an infection. Their is no cure, salt will aid in homeostasis if the salinity is already low but will not treat it. The good news is tropical fish like Cudas only live 10 years they will die of old age before they die of cancer. Fish with Tumors are often euthanized, I suspect that the athestics are too unpleasing for most and but it has it's importance in stopping the spread of these genes.
