Well i noticed months ago, before black friday when my betta was in a 2 gallon by himself that he has developed a tumor on his side. Swam and ate normally, did some research and decided not to worry about it.

Here we are in mid February and i just put him down. I noticed 2 days ago after letting him fast, he was a little over weight and i wanted to get a better look at the tumor. I found he had 2 more tumors on that side, one behind his dorsal fin close in size to the original one and a 3rd right under his pectoral\anal fins. I fed him some frozen bloodworms as it had been 3 days, didnt see him eat much. Yesterday i get up and turn on his lights and my poor guy is in full Dropsy, his body pine-coning pretty badly. Knowing once they've done that (at least in bettas) there is no hope for the little guy, so today i got some Clove oil and put him down.

So my question is has anyone heard of anything like this? Tumors just spreading so quickly on a young fish? I only had him 6-7 months, so he should have been pretty young to have essentially cancer

tank specs are: 5 gallons, 80-82 temps, 7.0 ph, 0 ammonia\nitrate\nitrite, live plants, betta pellets\bloodworms as main diet (though he liked to steal algea waffers from the ghost shrimp)
