is tuna a good food for carnivorous fish?i plan to feed my bottom dwellers tuna, silversides etc..is it okay to feed frozen fish all the time?or shoud i just do this periodically as a treat?

any feedback is appreciated,thanks:headbang2

If its tuna in a can, be careful. It might be too salty or something. Ive wondered about feeding fsh tuna and sardines, but im thinking its too salty.

some canned tuna has a lot of things added to it, oil, etc. so I'd be very careful if that's the case

i dont use the stuff from a can but fresh/frozen works great... its not cheap so i dont use it as a staple or anything.. but whenever i cook some for my family the fish always get some..

I use tuna, mackerel or sardines as part of my gel food recipes for goldfish. Canned fish with oil or tomato sauce included should be washed carefully. Little residues though will not be a problem.

Not sure on the tuna part. If it's out of the can I know it could be really messy if not rinsed well.
I'm assuming when you say frozen fish. You mean the silversides? I always have thawed them out in a cup of water first.

i wuldnt use tuna from a can they put alot of presurvitives in there and fresh uncooked fish has more proteen cause just like all food once u cook it it loses some of its nutritional value dont know if uv tryed shrimp thats what i use in combination with chicken liver and alge wafers.
