Given the size of some of the projects here and the shear cost - has anybody actually tried a walk through tunnel that you know of yet?

So many public aquariums using them these days it would surprise me if no one has privately yet.

:iagree:

only if i had a million or two.

oh yeah man
when i get a 12 million in the bank maybe i try it

Haha. Well seeing some of the privately owned mega tanks makes me think a few people at least could afford it.

Wouldn't surprise me if somebodys done it, even if they haven't posted it. :)

trying to get ideas for a new project? :D

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Haha, not at all. I'm still having for my 6ft reef tank lol.

I suppose I could hang it from a ceiling and walk under it everyday and go oooo.

Another thing - somebody is bound to have done this... underfloor aquarium (i.e. walk over it)?

Surely surely surely someone has done that?!

A tunnel is a trickier project than you would think. I've been involved with installing and keeping them up. They drastically change how you can move water in a tank, not to mention are a PAIN to clean. The tunnel also distorts the fish as you look at them. In fact (opposite of popular belief), the tunnel will SHRINK the animals by about 20%.
The flat (or even a curved) window is by FAR easier to install and keep clean.

However, if you have enough $$, you can do it. Getting one made and shipped it the hard part. The curve of the tunnel makes them hard to move. Plus, you'd have to look into what you really want...one seemless part or severla sections. The sectioned method is easier to move and cheaper, but then you have to have someone put it together once it's on site.
