I am looking for a pump to increase water movement and am looking at two different options:

Tunze Turbelle Nanostream 6045 - 1189 GPH
Hydor Koralia 4 - 1200 GPH

The Koralia is quite a bit cheaper, but it appears to be bulkier than the Nanostream.

Does anyone have experience with either or both of these pumps?

Thanks!

I use all hydor koralia's but thats just because they are a whole lot cheaper. I am very happy with them and they seem to work great. The guys at the reef store down the road from me only use tunze's tho. They say they are alot stronger and alot more reliable. i.e. 1200gph koralia will be weaker than 1200gph tunze. Durability wise, I've never had a koralia break on me.

Good luck making a decision.

If your budget allows tunze, then you may want to check out the ecotech vortech mp40w. It's fully controllable out of the box with many different types of flow. Flow rates from 500-3000 gph with a fully programable night mode too. This thing keeps my sand bed sooooo clean it's unreal. If generates a huge amount of undertow in my tank and my fish seem to love it. pretty energy efficient to boot

I use the small Tunze Nanostream 6025 and have not once regretted investing so much. It generates the most natural current in my opinion.
