Turbo Twist UV sterilizer review?

I have a tank in direct sunlight (yes I know, I shouldn't but that was the only place for it)
So Would the turbo twist uv sterilizer for a 125 gallon tank (mines a 90 gallon) eliminate the single cell algae?

The do need to be inline of some sort of pump for the correct amount of flow. If you have a high flow pump, you may want to add a T or Wye fitting with a ball valve to dial down the flow.

From what I understand they can help with green water.

I have mine hooked up to a dedicated pump / powerhead. It helps quite a bit with algae. When I screwed up and broke mine the algae got much worse in a matter of days while I was waiting for my new one to be delivered.

There are two reasons why that happens. A UV sterilizer kills almost all biologicals int he water, including the single cell and diatom organisms that help keep algae in check on a smaller scale. When you stop UV those organisms don't come back as quickly as the algae can grow, making the issue worse.

If you do add a UV, keep a UV running to prevent future issues.
