my mom did not want to use the liver from our turkey today so i cooked it and tossed some into my fish tank and the fish just went nuts on it (my turtles love it too)
my bichirs seemed to go after it faster than any of my other fish.

anyone els use liver as fish food?

Sure, they sell frozen liver at the lfs. Friend of mine used softened up liver to feed his baby rbp's

I don't know what people are always talking about when they say they dont like liver, I love the stuff, specially bacon wrapped

i feed my fish chicken liver and beef heart. they love the lean meat. however, one time i just threw in a whole chunk of beef heart and had to do two water changes in two days to get rid of the cloudiness.

Do you cook the liver first or toss it in raw?

i toss it in raw... do people mix vegetables like spinich in with their fish's diets? im interested in what people feed their dats. I feed mine the beef heart/liver, chicken liver, shrimp, and feeder fish on occasion. and i feed flakes to my other guys.

I have fed chicken liver to candiru, loachs, even corys and angels, be very careful not to over feed because leftovers foul the tank quickly, I use it raw. Most fish love it and my eel would suck them down whole.

My dog would have never forgiven me if I gave his thanksgiving turkey guts to the fish.

Very few liver flukes, flatworms, etc. that are found in upland birds suchas turkeys can survive in a cold blooded animal like a fish, wild duck carries a few.
