Hi guys, was just wondering what your thoughts were on turning your fishkeeping hobby into a job. I have been studying now as a navigational officer in the merchant navy for three years now and im drawing very close to qualifying so i have been thinking on what i want to do next.
I have been looking into working at sea for a year or so to get some money together and going back to University to study Marine and Freshwater Biology. After your first two years depening on your level of success you can get a placement at zoos, Agricultural/Fisheries, conservation or even research projects nationally or overseas. I think this would be a great opportunity for me and certainly a more intimate view into one of my top hobbies.
What are your opinions? Are there any of you currently on this route of marine biology or something similar?
Sorry if this thread has been made before but i am interested in what other opinions are and also for any other younger folk that are considering such routes. Sharing such information may help others to formulate their future plans.
Thanks
Andy
