Currently setting up a growout tank for a pair of coral cats the tank is a standard 125 gallon and I am wondering what kind of flow is reccomended I was leaning towards a med-high flow system with 2 maxijet mods running around 2400 gph on each maxi as well as my 900 gph return pump giving me a turnover of around 45x. I just wanted to be sure that traditional fowlr and reef turnover rates wouldnt be to much for these guys.

Thanks in advance

Hmmmmm this makes me rethink what my best options would be to increase flow in the system then maybe jsut one maxijet mod blowing towards the snadbed just to get rid of any stale sections in the tank

so im running 1800 gph on a 265 gallon along with powerheads, is this good? srry for intruding.

turnover on that tank is 6.79x little low would be my guess but as long as you are getting good flow throughout the tank and no dead zones you should be fine. My prob is i only have my sump returns and they both are more for surface movement so I will end up with lots of dead zones in the lower areas of the tank

EDIT: Sorry noticed you also hoave pwerheads what type of powereheads and how much flow do they add

I am going to get some koralias and also have a 3500 gph powerhead, and a few maxi jet 1200.

well tank is up and cycling the flow from the returns was very low so i added a korallia 4 on one side of my overflow box and a second will be going on the other side. This will give me a turnover of aroundn 25x but it is very gentle and most of the flow is concentrated in the top portions of the tank with the bottom of the tank having good updraft but very little actual cross flow this was achieved by placing the korallias about 6 inches below the surface and pointing them directly into the tanks corners. Hoping that its not to much for the cats but if it is I am sure i will easily be able to scale back to korallia 3's
