one of my westerns seems to have escaped the 55gal tank they are in...i cant seem to find him i havent been home all day and i searched for like an hour with my madre...how long you think he'll last with out water...i have a tupperware up stairs with some water on the carpet where the tank is but if he made it downstairs idk...let me know what you think

How big is the turtle? Not sure about a hatchling, but I know adults can last quite a few days. Look under sofas, curtains, heck lie on the floor and look for places with gaps.
Good luck finding him,
Paul

I agree. You would be surprised at what they will squeeze inside of. When I had a snapper in my bedroom growing up, he use to escape every now and then and I would find him in dark areas under my bed or in my closet. Good luck Vice, I hope you find him soon.

i had a baby yellow belly survive for almost 3 weeks wondering arround my house it had a 2" shell @ the time...

ok good im not so worried cause i didnt find him even though i searched everywhere in the house for another two hours after i posted this i hope he will come cruising out and a about sometime today but i will continue to look

he will appear, one of these days, no doubt....

your right miguel...he showed up today i left the sliding door open while i was clipping my dogs nails and the turt came strolling out and walking across the deck...im releaved...

definately dude this was my first time losing him and i was searching the house frantically for him for like 4hours the first night...my parents couldnt understand why...the faja kept saying "He was free go get another one when Kianas has babies again"...i wanted to say "Is that how it works if i run away you just get busy and make another child cause its free" but i refrained and continued to look...

My turtle got out once. He dove over 4ft to the hard floor but ended up unharmed in the next room, he could've been out of water for up to eight hours. I'm glad he didn't try the stairs. This was ten years ago. I still have him.
