im so tired of having my turtle docks fall off its getting to the point is really annoying me...

i have one thats held on with magnets & one with suction cups... the one with suction cups dont fall off as much as the magnet one but its a pita to keep having to remove the lights & the lids to put the docks in place again... anything i can do to stick em on there without it falling off & without having to permanently stick em on without gluing them or anything?

Oh boy... lol.

Mine are put on my suction cups, and they unstick all the time.

I have 2 large docks.. one front, and one back, so it makes a larger platform.

My female turtle actually pulls them off the wall with her feet because she's always trying to get your attention.

There are 2 things that you could possibly do...

You could make a platform that sits in your tank, and attach the dock to that.. the dock won't be floating any longer.
OR, you can make a pvc type thing that will hang down into your tank, and hold the dock. Again, not floating. Think of it like an upside down U to hang over the tank.

ORRRRRRR...

You can make them their own tank, and just make a place where they can crawl out and bask.

I think the floating docks SUCK! I only use these because their big tank isn't done yet.

i was thinking about making a mini turtle pond just for turtles since i just found some places i can get used wood for cheap or free but ehg no time & too lazy to make something that'll look nice and be nice...lol

that pvc idea sounds nice gave me some other ideas too since i have a bunch laying around from old sumps and stuff lol thanks! :D

btw how big do pink belly side necked turtles get? i was gonna look it up but i forgot the scientific name for them...lol

They get about 10"

Emydura subglobosa

thats it? 10" and here i was thinking about building a pond just for her lol

10" is a lot bigger than you think because of their mass.

really thinking about that pond you think a turtles nail will rip pond liner?

depends on the mil thickness.. i think my pond is 3 mil, and it's fine.

Or, you can just get a 300 gallon stock tank.. would be less work.

im thinking about a 2 story pond. bottom/first level will be water & the 2nd/top part will be the basking/nesting level. i saw this type of setup at my friends house who bred dbt & some other turtles/tortoises

30 mil maybe? 3 mil is WAY to thin, even for fish. The thinnest liner I have seen was 10 mil, and it was like holding a cheap garbage bag.
