Turtle feeding portions

first you should let us know what turtle it is..as you can imagne, different turtles, dif feeding requirements.
It is a Sonora Mud Turtle.
And when you say "a portion the size of the turtle head a day"
5 goldfish a day is too much right? His neck is pretty long though..
His body is around 7"
I bought some pellets and I am very happy that the wild turtle accepted them right away. Should I quit the goldfish diet and give him around 10pellets a day?

looks like a male. Since it is eating pellets, skip the goldfish. Give it 2 a week slices of fish fillet ( preferably fw fish ) and onj other ocasions shrimp and keep the pellets as staple.
and feed it what it eats in 4 or 5 minutes. you'll get the hang of it. just don't leave untouched food hanging around.
I filter all my tutles really really well but the ones that ate fish always had fish swimming in there tanks the other were fed pellets at night usually between 3 and 10 pellets per turtle per size/my mood etc...
