Ok, so I've aqcuired a trio of elderly turtles that had been abandoned by an elementary school science teacher that had recently been retired...
These turtles are approx 20 years old. 2 Red Ear Sliders, and 1 Painted. All three are females that had been living together for at least the last 15-years that the teacher had been with that school.
I've got them set up in an "indoor pond" in my house. I've set up one of those pre-formed pond things for them with appropriate land/water hang-out spots They were orriginally in a 45-gal breeder tank with rocks and bricks to climb up on and while they do not show any signs of neglect and were relatively well cared for, they seem quite happy in the new pond.
Pics will be here as soon as I can find my camera, but more importantly, I need names for these gals. Any ideas?

i like to pick names from different area of mythology. start looking around and you will see somehting that fits. thats how i got the names for my lizards.

That was very nice of you for taking in those turtles.

I enjoy giving most of my pets "dumb" names. For example I have a male Jaguar Cichlid named "Fluffy". :D He's anything but warm and fuzzy.

Nice, cant wait for pics! How about Dorothy, Sophia, and Blanch?

I like to use the scientific name for inspiration. So red-eared slider = Trachemys scripta elegans; how about Tracy and Ellie? Then painted turtle = Chrysemys picta; Chryssie will work.

haha! I got it... decided to go with native american names...
For the smaller, painted turtle: AYASHA: Cheyenne name meaning "little one."
For the darker colored of the 2 sliders: CHOCHMO: Hopi name meaning " mud mound."
For the lighter of the 2 sliders: PAMUYA: Hopi name meaning " water moon."
