hello i was really thinking about getting a turtle. does anyone know all the stuff i would need and how to set up a nice little home i would like to keep fish/snakes or some other animals with him maybe some crayfish or crabs i know he may eat other animals but any help?

I have no personal experience with trying a cohab, but if you have the money alot of people here keep Fly River's with fish. From what I do know though all turtles need a basking area so they'd need some area devoted to that which greatly affects the fish. You'd be cutting down their space considerably which will affect everything including biological filtration. Plus tutles are straight pigs and easily foul the water to the point where it would quickly kill the fish. If you have to try it though I'd try musk turtles and maybe neons or goldfish. Goldfish because they can tolerate pretty horrible water parameters. However they're slow so the turtle will probably eat them. Neons cause they're quick and small requiring less space. The Musk turtle is a good choice cause they're real slow even by turtle standards plus they stay pretty small. Only other choice to me would be a texas map again cause they stay small.

i have exodons (bucktooth tetra) with my diamondback terrapin for over a year now, no problems at all :). A turtle can only eat what it can catch, is the saying with any fish. My brother has a razorback musk turtle with his african cichlid tank for over 2 years now, again zero problems. Aside from the fact that the Africans would attack the turtle out of a territory. But it is a risk to put anything in with turtles.

I have a Paratilapia polleni, Pleco, and Giant Danios in with some Mud and Musk Turtles. They live in a 100 gallon stock tank and I haven't had any issues what so ever. I did have a female Convict in with them but I recently moved her to another tank.
