1) Does anyone know how to tell if a stinkpot is gravid?

2) How do you tell a baby yellowbelly from a hybrid(YBxRES)? I've seen yellowbellies for sale that have a little red on the side of the head. Are they born with this, or are they hybrids?

3) Does anyone know where to get loggerhead musk turtles?

Thanks a lot,
Steve

stinkpots lay eggs, so they're not gravid. They're, at the most, eggbound...

The baby sliders you see for sale can often be hybrids. Technically, all sliders are the same species. But there are actually 4 subspecies (Big Bend, Cumberland, Yellow Bellied, Red Eared) and they all can breed with each other quite easily. That's why you shouldn't release turtles outside of their natural range, if at all. RExYB offspring can show characteristics of both parents.
