If he's not biting or hurting himself at all, it might just be personal preference. My lil EPT sleeps completely pulled into his shell, in an artificial plant, with the leaves holding him up to a few inches above the water. He climbs right up, gets comfortable, and falls asleep.

haha that's even weirder than mine.lol
thanks for the help.

what would it have been if he was biting? ..arthritis?(if so what is the cause and how do I cure it)

No problem. Not sure what it might have been. Maybe a parasite that's itching him, or maybe something similar to when a dog licks their paws when there's nothing wrong with them. I don't think it would be arthritis, since that deals with the bones and joints and biting would only get to the skin and flesh. I don't know. I'm fairly new to turtles, so I'm probably not the best source for causes.

me too! well good luck to the both of us!

Yes! Best of luck! This is my first turtle for keeps, but i once kept a box turtle for a week before someone saw the found posters we put up and picked him up. That's as far as my turtle keeping skill goes, but I know a lot (not to brag or anything) on the biological end of it, thanks to thr Irwins and Jeff Corwin. I also have a wonderful source for information: the person i bought my turtle from was a pro. He knows all.

Btw, would you mind if I added you to my friends list? You can do the same if you like.

what is this friend list?lol

lol seriously? well...its a list of friends. go to the person's profile and click "add to friends list". if you were joking, don't worry. i got it.

oh o.k, whatever go ahead!
