I can hear whistling noise coming out of his nose when he breathes but is that o.k. for turtles?

I'm anxious since in birds it's a bad thing..

I don't know much about chelonians, but I do know in lizards and snakes, it is a sign of RI.

respitory infection?
how can i treat it?

thanks for the link..
I can't find herp vets though..and the founder of the CA turtle & tortoise club told me, NEVER to take turtles to a vet..it's a waste of money and your turtle wil die after the trip.. She says that almost all normal vets are in-experienced in reptiles..especially turtles..

Can I buy antibiotics on drsfostersmith??

he does have that floating to the side thing after I pull him outta the tank and put him back..but after a few seconds he's back to normal.

the water temperature is 74F since my reptile heater is broken and won't stay at 78F. drsfostersmith is sending me a new one right now..
so if I make him warm, his "whatever virus" will heal right? I heard one whistle again when he took a breath..

Now I hear him knocking on the glass while chasing the fish..

yes she would be right. MANY vets don't have a clue. You ring around and ask if there is anyone that specialises or is clued up on reptiles specifically (doesn't have to be a reptile ONLY vet). I find it hard to believe that there isn't one, or any other way you could get this turtle looked at properly like it needs to in CA.

well i'm sure that there's at least one in CA.lol
just not sure if there are any around my area code.
