I DON'T HAVE THIS. I'm just curious, could you keep a Jaguar cichlid with adult Red ear sliders (water turtle). The turtles get up to 12 inches. I keep a convict cichlid with my turtles and it works out great! The fish outsmarts the turtles every time. I read that Jaguar cichlids can get 18". Could they harm a turtle? What size tank would a turtle and a Jaguar cichlid need if it is possible for them to live together?

i have no expierence with turtles all i know is a male jag will require a huge territory usually 4-6 ft....... they are not really as agressive with fish as they are with territory anything invading their territory will be attacked i think it might work you will just need a big tank to kepp everyone happy...

What size tank? Like a 125 or 100? Thats what 2 turtles need (depending on gender). SO could 1 turtle be with 1 jag in a 100? Could a jag harm a turtle if it was defending its territory?

I would think more then likely that is a horrible idea.

i would say at least 180+ since you stated turtles need about 100 gallons jags need about 150 so i would say 180+........i wouldnt try it tho....

How aggressive would the Jag likely be with the turtle if it isn't paired? I know with convicts, their aggression is less if they are not breeding. Could a jag harm the turtle?

it doesnt really matter if jags are paired a male will occupy his territory and defend it.... i dont know if it can harm it jags have huge mouths and im pretty sure turtles wouldnt mind a fish snack....

Lets just say jags can get 15 inches + and are one of the meanest cichlids you can get. I would trust them. Then again I dont know much about turtle.

I thought both of those things but since the jag can get the same size or bigger I'm not sure the turtle would view it as a snack. How aggressive are female jags? What tank does a female need? Can you sex them at 2 inches?
