turtle has to be smaller than the cichlids. If your turtle is 2 inches, cichlid has to be 6 inches. If you throw in a feeder(or feeder size fish), it will be eaten. When your turtle grow bigger, you can no long keep it with cichlids. Red-earred slider can be kept with cichlids at the juvenile stage, african neck turtle is too aggressive, it bites as hard as wolf fish.
