In my quest for crystal clear water I bought a second AC110 and stuck my Elite power head on the tank, the ac30 from my 25 gallon is on as well just to keep it ready for when it goes back on.

I want my water to be as clear as possible but think I may need to step up to a canister as well.

Um yes they are pigs and I just want super clear water. I may have to get my sand out of the tank as they are constantly picking it up and spitting it back out. I like the sand look but find I keep getting a fine dust sttling on the tank sides.

I have a single AC110 on a 56 and the water is very clear. So I don't see why you would need more than what you have on a 75.

i am running a pair of ac110's on my 75 and also dont have any problems with cloudyness.

i am keeping 5 silver dollars, an silver arrowana, a P-Bass, and a pleco in there currently. no live plants.

i too have a sand bottom, but i did a bit of research and went with the estes sand. seems to be a bit heavier and doesnt float up.........i also agree with trying some water changes.

buy a vortex diatom filter while they are still available on ebay. use it when needed for a good polishing.

i have an ac110 and a eheim 2217 on my 90g. got a bunch of sa/ca bigboys in there and my water is fine. someone here said it. it looks like algae bloom.

I am using sand blasting media ( silca made from recycled glass bottles) it does look green when it's in your hands, I will try the lights off a bit I have been keeping the lights on about 15 hours and have been scrubing the algae off like mad so that may very well be the problem, thanks .
