I wanted to know if i could raise two clown knives together from babies to adulthood as well as one arowana one oscar one jack dempsey one puffer (maybey one stingray) WITHOUT ANY PROBELEMS

thanks :D :D :D fishmastermike

with clown knives you either wanna go 1 or 3+ shouldnt have a problem with tankmates as long as they cant fit into its mouth.

i believe its an aggression issue. kinda like arowana, pairs can be done, but not likely or without having to try something out, but larger numbers good.

for a good sized tank for arowana, your gonna want something thats long as well as just as deep for their length, as well as the clown knifefish's length. id go with the size tank thatd im gonna get one day, an 8x3x2 ft, or 360 gallons. with this setup you could do three clown knives in that tank kinda like.

1 silver aro
1 oscar?
1 JD? (both can be slightly upped with the right filtration)
1 stingray
3 clown knifefish

the brute of your stocking will be the clown knifefish in this setup, hence only one arowana and a few smaller tankmates such as the oscar, JD, and stingray. now i said slightly upped, meaning possibly two, wouldnt do that for teh JD though, but oscars are easy to add more.

IMO, 350-400 gal tank is the minimum size if you're planning to put them all together in 1 tank but if it's just the 2 of the clownknives then I think a 200 gal should do.I don't want to put a heavy burden to you, neither anyone wants to do so. Money doesn't come easy :D

i figured that this setup would be reasonable due to that my setup in the same size tank that im going for is going to be.

3 silver arowana
1 clown knifefish
1 large catfish (dont know yet, either LSN or something in hte 2-2.5 ft range)

i dont have this tank set up and running either, but i like to plan out my tanks to save the hassle of knowing that im buying the right size tank etc., and the headache of not buying the right size when i want a certain fish. ask questions
