I moved around a lot of fish yesterday. Among some of them were all my poly's.
This morning I went in the fish room and took a quick glance. All was fine. Went down about 5 hours later and found one of my endlies on the floor. I thought he was gone but when I picked him up he had a last spark of life. I put him back in the tank, and he started swimming right away. About a hour later I went down to check on him and did a head count. One more endlie missing. I found this one in the water resivoir I use for water changes. It's right behind their new tank. He looked kind of funny sittin in a 8x4 foot pond. Put him back in the tank and he started swimming around.
Both these guys jumped out the gap that the regular glass don't cover. I covered the holes. Now just hoping for the best.
Both these guys are 10" plus and are finally starting to get really thick. Poly's are pretty hardy so I hope they make it.

It's a good idea to rinse them off before putting them back in the tank.

When stressed, bichirs will shed their protective slime coat, and if they are not rinsed, when you toss them back in, you also toss in dust, hair, etc.. that got stuck to their slime, which can introduce bad bacteria to the tank when they shed their slime coat in the tank.

best of luck

I hope they are ok too this just happened to me too. I moved some fish around to and went out to dinner when I came back 1 of my BGJDs had knocked the lid off part ways and jumped out . However the dog got him . Bummer I feel so bad. Good luck Ill say a little bichir prayer for them:D

Thank's guys.
They both made it just fine. There is covers on the lids now so it won't happen again.
I just don't really understand why they neve jumped out of there old tank. The back wasn't covered on that one. The only thing different is this setup has a lot more decorations.

Glad to hear they made it!
