I am going to have to give this product a very high rating. Good price and my sky high phosphates are already falling. Carbon can also be run in this reactor.

Just in case anyone was in the market. Its a good and inexpensive product.

I was considering this...but I went with avast marineworks.

Hefty, solid construction, made in the US of A, and a small time fish guy buisness.

He has tons of options and its a website worth checking out. Im planning on buying another reactor from him soon. One to run carbon/phosban in and another one to run most likely ecobak.

www.avastmarine.com is the link...sorry not intending to thread jack, just figured while we were talking about reactors I would mention the one I recently purchased...it is assembled...but not running in tank yet, as my sump is leaky.

(Dude cut the glass a little too small.)

That's good to know

I was looking into them before getting my vertex reactor

As I'm already starting to collect everthing that I need for my next set-up, I just might give this reactor a try

There is a more in detail review of the avast reactor in my 125g thread...that is in my sig in case anyone wanted it.

Jworth, have you considered bio pellets?

I am not familiar with bio pellets. Please enlighten me. Its been a while since I have been into salt water and my setup was VERY basic back then.

Below is the link for the bio-pellets that I am using in my 90 gallon right now. I've been using them for almost 3 months now. I've been having really good luck with them, great water quality

Almost forgot about the below thread as well. Some good conversations on bio-pellets

Thanks for the links. I am going to do a bit more research on this as well. Long term it may be something good to run in there. For the short term at least, I need to strictly get my phosphates under control since my nitrates stay at 0. I have been fighting some funky algae blooms for a bit.
