So figured i'd post updates on my new toothy companions. Started with an elong in my 75 gallon, quickly picked up a Manueli as well and split the tank for now. Have another tank i can set up once they settle in and grow a bit more but I have a new FX6 running along with a really strong powerhead i used to run for my 14" cichla in my previous tank. Thought it would be better than running my smaller Hydor to keep them swimming constantly. May be a little too much for them but they seem to be doing well and taking the flow just fine.

Couple cool shots I just took when i was doing a quick water change and they were checking each other out.

Enjoy

Yeah I like the Manny. Nice find

Please let me know how your many does I recently purchased a small one like 4" long 7 days ago and he don't eat anything and he is like the most scared piranha I ever owned?

Guy's say these are finger chasers and aggressive but he looks super scared!

if he don't start eating soon I am bringing it back to the fish shop for a replacement as I never owned a piranha like this before and I owned many P's

My manny is just getting settled and and just started eating the other day (after not eating for first week). I' tried silversides for a few days and he didn't look at him but threw a piece of shrimp in and he took a few bites.

Best bet is to just find out what they were feeding him at the pet store and start with that (and don't let anything sit in the tank for too long. If he doesn't eat it, take it out after an hour). As for him being scared, my elong is still very shy and hides when i walk in (after hearing that they are the most aggressive p out there). I asked a lot of people and did a lot of research but it's really just a waiting game on when they come out of their shell. Once they feel comfortable and start to eat (and know you have food) they will chase you.

Just do everything you can to make him comfortable (hiding places, low lighting, clean water) and i'm sure he'll turn out great.
