Just felt like updating on my dedicated 22-gallon-cube-cardinal tank.
Still have 42 of the 50 batch for more then 3-months all is well, they have adjusted to my very hard-water with daily 50% changes/prime no-probs
I have been considering adding something else to the tank, even though I know I am kinda overstocked already
I have them on Hikari Micropellets, thawed brine-shrimp & thawed blood-worms, reason for my neurotic 50% water changes DAILY
Anyway my mother has been looking for some healthy fish to add to her 10-gallon-hex tank.
Her whole life she was into fish (guess thats were I get it from) was doing the guppy-thing the last few years, went to fancy pearlscale goldfish, then to a single male betta in the hex tank.
She's still into fish, but because of lack of free time/some family issues, she only has time for this tank.
She likes Angelfish, the normal/silver/striped ones, veils yes, I hate veils love standard/sturdy/fish.
Well I came across some nice silver/striped normals the other day, same place I picked up my JAG from, the tank had a batch of normal-silver & normal-silver-veils, as well as, marbles and some marble veils.
This tank looked super/fresh/healthy the fish darted around and were very alert.
There was another tank of KOI Angels/Koi Veils, but nothing super, most small percentage of orange and WEAK looking.
Again, long story short, I picked up 2 nice looking silver/striped/normals, not that big 1 around nickel body size, the other around a quarter.
After about 1 hour in my mothers 10-hex, they were torturing the single male betta as a team
Well I was considering adding something to my 22-gallon-cardinal-cube, perhaps angels, but if it was going to be angels I was dead set on albino/standard/fin. This color would have looked nice in this dark-themed-tank.
Well I have adopted 2 standard/silvers, there in my cardinal tank. The cardinals are very fat, much to big for the angels to eat.
So far, so good, the Angels seem to stick together, the cards still hang in the plants at the base of the tank, which is what they always did (my reason for wanting to add some other fish)
The Angels are now the top of the food-chain, I have to overfeed them to makesure my cards still get enough food.
Guess, I am limited on time with this setup, but I sure hope it lasts for a little while, if these ballsy angels (which they are) attack the cards I will be forced to get a 3rd tank setup, or let them make friends with Bruno the JAG
Fired off some new pics of the JAG without lighting, added a 3rd-powerhead to his setup, had 2 since the start WITH him, had the moon-leds on, and some room lights on, still cannot get decent photos with subdued lighting on his tank.
Thanks for listening to my fish ramble
