i really want a black aro to go with my silver 15-16". im worried about fighting, and i know its just a tossup to see if they will work or not but i am wondering should i get a third aro to spread out the agresion if there is any?
yes i know i will need a huge tank for life etc...

well..rule of thumb for spreading the agression is

the MORE is the BETTER...

but then again your tank space is the limit...just make sure everyone is happy and enough food...

you need to pack them in

i have 6 asain aros in a 7ft right now and they have to much space they are sort of grabbing territorys

if they were in a 4ft tank until they got bigger i think it would work better

my aros are 12inch and i think a 4x2x2ft would be better for another 6 months or they reach 15inch

Remember too that Black aros are very unaggressive compared to silvers.

Personally I would just add the black and see what happens. Make sure you do have another tank ready if problems occur. I really don't think there is an exact formula for this, unless you have a huge tank.

i think im going to start with the black and see what happens, if there are problems i will seperate and decide what to do from there. it might work, i have a gar with my silver and there is zero agro from the silver. ultimately i want a silver, black, and lei. but that might be hard to do.

I have a black and silver in my community. I have no problem with the two:)

i used to keep my silver with my black.
well, actually i kept a few with my black.
they were all sold though, except one.
they were about 3 inches at the time while the black was 7 inches. :)
