i have two small albino oscars only about 4 inches or so i am starting my tank out from scratch it is a 55 gallon tank and i also have 3 convicts and a jack dempsy any reccomendations on other tank mates for my 55 gallon.

Tankmates?!?!? Is that 55 is the end-home for these fish?? One oscar is too much for that tank, nevermind 2 and more !! Do yourself a favor, bring the Oscar back and get a Jewel Cichlid or ONE Firemouth!!

You already have more than that tank will eventually be able to hold so you might want to rethink the extra fish. Aquariums can look relitivly empty at first but as the fish grow you find yourself with a problem on your hands.

The rule of thumb with Oscars and aros is either one or many but I have two Oscars that have gotten along famiously from day one, about 8" at the moment. I'm not going to take the chance and get a secound aro even though it's really tempting. LOL

Situations often change as the fish grow and mature so keep alert and be ready to step in with larger set ups if and when necessary.

Thats how it starts, you dont have too many fish you just dont have enough tanks lol

I wondered why the house was 40% wolves and 40% water....We must need a NEW house. LOL (Nice sized ranch already in the works.)

I say no to any Oscars, unless you have a bigger tank for them. Mine is packing on weight like crazy in my 55, and will have to move to a 75 by the end of the year.

We have our pair in a 100g for now but as others move up the tank ladder they will too...LOL
