Can anyone tell me if this behavior is friendly or aggressive?

I put two same size, juvenile Oscars in a new 75 gallon tank together at the same time. They basically shadow each other all over the tank, even in direct contact with each other. My girlfriend said, "they're married," but I have my doubts. I thought maybe the shadowing was some sort of dominance display, like, "hey, if you're going over there then so am I, cause this is my tank!" Though they switch the role of which one is following and which one is followed. Occasionally one will try to get under the other but it doesn't seem to bother anyone. So far I haven't seen any biting or nipping.

I've never put two Oscars together so I have no idea if this is good or bad.

its fine
ur lucky infact.
maybe a possible pair, don't think you can tell yet.
how are they at feeding time?

They are unenthusiastic at feeding time so far, I think they're still getting used to their new home. I'll put a few pellets in and they'll get to them as they see fit. I've had the Red Oscar for a few months and he's always been an enthusiastic feeder, maybe overly enthusiastic, he splashes and has bit me. I really think it's just the new tank.

My 9-10" wilds shoal, they have had no aggression whatsoever. I assume that they are all female since there have been no breeding displays or anything...they act like a merry bunch of tetras.;) Its a normal oscar thing...my parents have 2 oscars in the tank in the living room...they do the same behavior. I wouldnt worry until you get open mouthed gill flaring full on displays. Then youll know either you have territory battles or a potential pair.

I kept my Os on a staple of Tetra Cichlid Sticks, with some Omega Cichlid pellets when I felt like driving the 2 hours to get them. But I made the switch to HBH Oscar Show for my wilds and some HBH Oscar Grow for the little guys....they are really avid about the food. My wilds are always excited to eat but they are giving the glass canopies a beating when they see the can come near the tank.

What will the offspring of a Tiger Albino and Red Oscar look like?

I'm not sure I even want to breed Oscars, it sounds like too much work keeping hundreds of fry. I guess I could siphon up any eggs I see.
