Pretty much as the title states. In my 55 gallon set up, I run a cascade 1000 into a short spray bar that flows horizontally on the top of the water on the left side. On the right side I have HOT magnum 250 that just outputs into the tank with no general direction.

What I was wondering is, can I make/purchase a longer spray bar that will span the full length of the tank and have both outputs from the separate filters at either end of the spray bar.

Here is my paint illustration trying to show what im attempting to explain lol

I only ask this question because I worry that the cascade 1000 pumps out more water than the HOT magnum and might stress out the motor/impeller due the cascade pumping out more GPH then the magnum.

opinions/thoughts please :) Thanks everyone.

What if you would use 2 spray bars instead of one long one (one for each filter). You could place them close together almost giving the appearance of 1 long bar. An added benefit of 2 bars would be if one canister ever loses flow, you'd be able to tell a lot easier, as it would have it's own spray bar.

Any man that quotes Max Powers must know what he is talking about lol

Honestly though, that isnt a bad idea at all.

hey mate i recently just did my own spray bar in my 5ft tank only with one input at the moment but i will be upgrading to another pump soon, so wot i did was goto hardware buy 4ft long piece of pvc pipe 19mm and just drilled my own required holes to suit, start with minimal holes and add hles till pressure suits to not damage pump/cause hektic waves. i also have mine submerged bout and inch under the surface

^^^This is my plan too. I keep it a bit higher to agitate the water for oxygen purposes(GF likes the noise lol).
