The problem is, they don't really show a bunch of color until they are rather large. Juveniles are pretty boring looking so probably not a hot seller at the fish store. Might be why you hardly see them at retail. I had to special order mine from our local store. I have a couple dozen babies from the last spawn that I probably will have to give away at some point, can't see a store wanting to buy them.
