Merry Xmas all,

I have a lightly stocked (no plecos) 75g with a senegal bichir about 6".

I noticed a reputable MFK selling WILD DELHEZI, but my LFS has some captive breed Delhezi. Any tremendous difference in these? Basically, they are about the same price, but I have to add another $15 for shipping for the wild ones. Ive heard some people say the coloration might be different, but I am not sure the source has any validity.

Also, if not Delhezi any other recommendations? I think Endli/Ornate will eat Senegal? Also, Ornate tends to be on the more aggressive side?

Wilds tend to have better color and stripes....

I have 2 captives and 2 wilds and wish they were all wilds... Not that I would give up the captives but the stripes are better on wilds.

Other then that I have not noticed much difference.

I live in indo, most endli here turns into dark brown when they grow up, though they're much lighter when young. If you gonna get endli, then 75g is not enough to house them. You will need at least 150 gall, but dels and sens will be ok in 75g, check out the stickies for information on bichirs sizes.

For your second question, Ive seen people keeping Endlis and Ornates with Sens, you just have to make sure they have their space and are well fed. I dont think theyre likely to eat each other but it does happen. But both are too big for a 75g so stick with dels and palmas spp for now and avoid all the other problems.

Wild Delhezis will typically have bolder, more defined stripes. Other than that, there's not much of a difference.
