Next question: Is this Light set-up OVER KILL for a planted 29g? I already have it and its from an old salt water setup I used to have...usable? yes? no? why? and again I was already in the garage so i didn't feel like running back upstairs for the camera. I apologize once more for the fuzzy pictures.

The plant looks like Lobelia cardinalis in its emersed growth. The light will be too much, without pressurized co2, and the spectrum of the bulb will matter.

looks like a waffle, aren't you getting alot of algae with all that extra light and doesn't make the water evaporate faster, and make it hotter

No, if it's a waffle plant it will die, rot and poison your tank after it drowns.

Are you in the pond plant section of that petstore?

nope!...it was in the aquatic plant section...that's why i was curious..

Purple waffle is what it is for sure.....see it for sale all the time here.

Non aquatic, put it in a humid area in a pot of soil.
