So I have a 125 SW FOWLR. I am putting together a 20 gal reef.

Would it be possible (or a smart idea) to put both my tanks off the one sump (and skimmer)?

Any suggestions or ideas would be great.

I was originally trying to figure out how I would go about plumbing my 20 gal since it has no overflow and no holes drilled, and keep it relatively cheap.

Yes it is possible to plumb two tanks to one sump...

The downside is if one tank gets sick, they both get sick...

The upside is you will have two tanks to enjoy and only one system to maintain... it's also much easier to keep larger systems stable than it is smaller systems...

Very possible. A lot of people have done it, unfortunately, most of them are fresh setups, but the concept is still the same.
