Hi guys, my texas has had this colour pattern for a couple of months now and i was wondering if its stress. He's the smallest cic in the tank, but the most agressive.

This is a female texas thats showing her breeding colors or "stripes" at this size she is now, she should be consistently going in and out of it, when she gets almost completely black, she will soon lay eggs.

From my experience, female green texas can spawn at 2-2 1/2"

Defineatley ready to spawn, possibly with any male in the tank as japes said any activity that would look like courtship going on in the tank?

Thankyou guys, this explains the extream teritory protection. There are no other texas in tank, only 1 big oscar, 2x 3" red devil, 1x 3" gold saum, gibbicep, 4 silver dollars. In 300G.
What shoud I do? I've a empty tank.

another aussie, good stuff where abouts mate?? nice little texas with the dress on, i love big texas in breeding mode they look spectacular :)
