hey guys, i've been wanting to put plants in my aquarium since the last time i did wasnt a success .. and im planning to put live plants but i dont want to put any substrate to it, if tht's even possible.. which means tht by tying the plants to the driftwoods and not planting them... what are the requirements tht i have to take and what are the plants tht i can use? :)

Java ferns or anubias. Both can be low light and easy to care for

Bare bottom planted tank? Challange accepted!

Really you are limited to mosses, bolbitis and java ferns, and anubias's. All of these are near bomb proof and hard to kill. You can also get away with having marimo balls and banana plants float around the bottom. You could also go the bare bottom with potted plants. Go to a craft store and get some glass containers OR go get ceramic pots. I would do organic potting soil capped with florite.

thanks guys ! :D yeaah, i have java moss in mind.. but those plants look uninteresting haha
what bout this type of plants guys? i dont know what species it is.. but it's easy to care..

Lots of plants can be grown in a bare tank. The plant in the above photo (anacharis) is one. Others to try - najas, pennywort, java fern, anubias, java moss, nymphae species, hornwort, etc.
