Typical Growth Reate for a Texas

I have had a texas cichlid for a couple of months and it has not gown.
He is in a large tank, good water, no stress, and eats very well.

Are Texas cichlids known for slow growth?

If im not mistaken they are slower growers than most other big cichlids. I would say with freak-went water changes and good food you could see approx 1/8 inch growth spurts monthly.
