this tyre track was used to bloodworms, but if i put bloodworms in the tank, there is no way this guy will ever getit. the only way it will get food is to eat from the bottom, at night when i put the fish fillets beef heart mix.
i was begginf ro food last two days, refused pellets - but did take a bite at some fish and beef herat but after briefly puting it in its mouth, kinda spat it out and inestigated other debris.
any suggestions on making it eat or is this a patience thing?

it had food ints its bellet, you know the distinctive food bumps when i go tit 5 days ago. and its gone now and it spends most of its day hiding, and comes out at night.

also, the tank temp is depending the external heat is 28.5 to 29.5.
i understand that temps like this is not unusual.

sounds very familiar my buddy was going through the same thing but he fixed it!!!! so..... get a long tube just like the one that goes to a power head, and use it to feed your tt eal and that way you can get some rest @ night(:

lol its ok, it doesnt impede on my sleep at all.
i want it to get into a habit of feeding when i feed the night animals and they are nocturnal in nature also, so thats ok.

just waiting for it to get hungry enough to eat some fish fillets and beef
once it does that, i know they will pig out, i have seen these guys pig out like crazy before!
its currently 16 ish inch.
i wanna really really get this guy huge!
its in a 1200 litre tank

get a turkey baster and spot feed it. i did that when my tt eel when he was still small.lol its like bottle feeding the eel haha. or try defrosted krill. they love that stuff

i guess you have to understand my mind
i sit there and watch them at times, to relax, and feeding time is something i set aside daily as a form of entertainment:D

feeding my eel by hand is not a chore for me.
it has eated, average of 1.5 whole raw peeled shrimp a day stuffed with hikari aro pellets, it just gulps the entire thing, with the pellets. i stick 4 to 5 pellets, sometimes 1 or 2 gets sqeezed out but it gets in at least 2 to 3 average eachtime, this should give it vitamins and stuff to fortify its health.

anyways,, this morning, it seems it knows that morning is feeding time, as i fed the others, it also comes out to explore, going upt to the top of the tank.
i waved the shrimp and it comes to take it off my hand.
no big hassle, reason is that if i drop the shrimp, it will be consumed before it even gets halfway down.

i have just purchased a tyre track eel on sunday i fed it a earthworm and he gobbled it down went to feed him again tonight and he wasn't interested and i tryed some blood worms but he didn't seem bothered. how often do they need feeding?
