How do you keep the air bubble from coming back in your u tube on a w/d overflow. We got in running the other day all the air was out, however when I come home from work the air bubble is back , thereby resticting the flow into the w/d... anyone have experience with a fix for this situation?

BTW I'm a w/d newbie.........

bump...nobody???:help2: I thought I remeber reading a post on this however in searching I'm unable to locate the info.......

raise the box inside the tank or get longer U tubes. You can also increase flow which can add enough pressure to force air out of it.

You can also tap into the tube and use a venturi style powerhead or air lifter pump to extract the air.

Thanks TunerX , 2 questions, help me understand how to use a venturi style powerhead or air lifter pump on the tube...

air lifter pump, not familar with that term? What is that?

The air lifter can suck air or water out out of the tube. It might just be called a lift pump. Many sites call it a luft pump which is german for air. The venturi is just a power head with a nipple on it. You attach airline hose to the powerhead and then to the U tube.

You need to get an insert nipple and drill the U tube to insert it. I am pretty sure there are DIY air lifter and venturi styles here on the site. You can also do a search for "CPR" overflow which will either use a venturi or lift pump, to give you some ideas.

I think you can use the outflow of the power head. just grab it and put where the water is shooting out into the U in the tank and blow water through it....I think I heard that somewhere....I am also curious...

depending on your flow the nipple attached to the U tube will also create a venturi so beware...not to mention if you powerhead shuts of you will most likely have air come in through the nipple and have an overflow failure which can lead to very wet floors.

What do you think about drilling the u tube and installing an air relief valve like the gang valves for air pumps.or check valve???.

I think there was a previous post on MFK addressing this point before?
