I have a lot of light in my apartment, but my 220 wont be in direct sun light like my 150 was... but I was wondering what UV Sterilizer (wattage wise) would be good for a 220?

I also highly recommend the coralife 18 watt or even the 36 watt. I got the 18 watt and it is great.

alright i just purchased one of those for my 150, keep a look out for my thread in the future, cuz damn my water is green.

i have a 9 watt on my 55 i would have went with the 18 but the guy at the store ordered the wrong unit great product

I’ve been using UV lights for about 5 years and have played with several brands/sizes on many set ups…

In the end I developed a simple “rule of thumb”:

10 gph per 1W of UV…
1W of UV per 10 US Gal of tank volume (include sump is applicable)…

This is for maximum use of the UV light including killing parasites…

To address green water only leave the wattage and multiple the gallon age and flow rates by 4...

For larger lights or any permanent set up I prefer to use Danner lights… for UV set ups that I wish to move from tank to tank I appreciate the Turbo Twists hang on tank design and find them to also work well…
