I have a 90 gallon tank with a 7 inch Chocolate cichlid( think its a male) and a 7 inch Red Spotted Severum(don't know the sex). Also have 4 Silver Dollars in there too.Problem is that the Chocolate constantly chases the Severum, sometimes pinning him into a corner of the tank behind some plants. They already broke 1 thermometer and I noticed tail of the Severum has some nips taken out of it.I do have places for the Severum to hide and also have a large piece of driftwood in the tank.I got both of them at the same time and in the store they were in a 90 gallon tank.Always thought Chocolates were very easy going.I guess I was wrong.Maybe it depends on the individual fish. Can anything be done to curb his aggressiveness?Or do I have to re home him.If so,what about an Uaru Cichlid? Also heard they are very easy going.

Uaru are very easy going. But they prefer to be in groups and like a little warmer water. They are amazing fish to keep !! I miss the ones I had and will probably have them again someday.

Uaru do better in groups.
