Would I be able to keep uaru and sevrums with my angelfish?? I am thinking about doing it. They will be upgraded to a 55 or 75.

I personally wouldn't but I'm sure you probably can. If you get any remotely aggressive Severum/Uaru (which is quite possible) you're in for some trouble though. Given your tank size it will pretty much need to be Severum anyway, 3 Uaru won't work in a 55.

I have my uaru with a chocolate cichlid, some cons, an oscar, and a green severum, and I had to remove the oscar because he was getting picked on (and not by the cons). The uaru basically runs the tank and the severum is only 3-4" or so but had to go into the big tank because he was beating up the other fish in my growout (JD, FM, pinktail chal).

That's the thing with both uaru and sevs, they vary widely re: temperament. My other sev (a gold) is still in the growout, it's the largest fish in there and isn't aggressive in the least. I would add the sevs (or uaru) at a much smaller size compared to the angels, and have a backup plan in place.

Allright thanks for the help guys. Yes I am going to get 2 small roketiels and 2 small golds. I also will get 2 small uarus. Haven't found geos yet though. I'm thinking of getting a 75 and making it a 75 uaru, sevrum, and angel tank.

Yeah they'll be going in the 125 when they get big.

they can be kept together... i have 2 uaru, 2 sevs and 5 little angelfish but they are in a 220... lots of room for them.

if you want 4 sevs and 2 uaru you are going to need a big tank. i would think i 180 would be better than a 125.

It's definitely possible in a larger tank, say 125(or six foot equivalant). Peanut has an adult koi angel in with a few large Crenicichla, snooks, and a few others. Here's a link to the post with a picture, http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150993. The angel is on the far right. Adult angels are more aggressive then most people give them credit for. Definitely go with standards, not veils.

The bigger the tank the better. Uaru and severums work well together, but angelfish would need a larger tank to survive with uaru and sevs, like barleypop's 220.

Some say that uaru are slow growers, which when compared to other SA cichlids they are. My uaru grew on average of 1/4 to 3/4 of an inch per month. So i'd suggest not keeping them in a 75gal for any longer than 8months at the most. Although two uaru should be ok in a 75gallon. 2 uaru and 4 sevs would be fine in a 125 with proper filtration, diet and water changes.
