Thinking about adding a uaru with my south american themed tank which sits at 78 degrees. I know these guy prefer higher temps but I also have peppered cories and bolivian rams and cant raise the temp much higher. Would 78 work or too cold for them?

Once you start stocking your tank you more or less set the course for future additions. When you have a couple of species with similar temperature preferences (i.e. low 70's) there is little to be gained and much to be lost by trying to shoehorn other critters in there who prefer it to be 10 degress warmer.

When you see that Species A likes a range that tops out at for example, 75 degrees...and that Species B prefers a range with a low end of 75 degrees...you shouldn't consider that to mean that they will live together well at 75 degrees. Each will be at least somewhat stressed by being kept continuously at what is considered an extreme for that species. They won't necessarily die, and may seem to get by for an extended period...but by doing this you aren't providing the best conditions possible...and that, after all, should be the goal.

Yes exactly therefore my question of temps for uaru so I dont make that mistake.
