Uaru Breeding Question

Hello,

I have a proven pair of Uarus in a 55 gallon. I had a bulging disc in my back and the water change schedule suffered for a couple months. Now they breed (weekly) then the parents fight and fry and/or eggs disappear. They were once great parents. Should I hope the work it out or start taken the rock with eggs and go the small tank, airstone approach.

One thing particular about Uaru is that the fry (are supposed to) feed off the slim coat of the parents, like discus. I've heard successful stories about raising fry separately though.
