Would someone describe the breeding behavior of Uaru Amph? I haven't found much online. The two Uaru I have NEVER leave each others side, and recently have been digging, nuzzling each other, flaring their gills and light bites once in a while. One is a good bit bigger than the other. I would love it if they are planning on breeding as these are my favorite fish of any I've kept so far. Only other thing I would assume it is would be that they are two males and they are jockeying for position some. Maybe venting them is worth doing?

They are laying eggs now. Lots. Is my best bet to move them to a separate tank, or could I leave the lights on at night to allow them to guard them? I’m ecstatic

D deeda pulling me in from across the interwebs. The Uaru King has arrived.
S Silvertongue700 I'd move them to their own tank if the pair isn't already alone. Just about anything else in the tank will eat the eggs. At least 75 gallons. My breeding pair is in a 125 by themselves. Temp should be 81 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit. My ph is 6.4 in all my aquariums.

If the fry survive, they will get food from the parents. The parents will over produce their slime coat for the fry to eat for a few weeks. I would supplement with baby brine shrimp.

Once a pair has formed they are paired up for life right?
