Uaru fernandezyepezi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They are beautiful fish and kind of on the expensive side. I had a group of 4 a few years ago and really liked mine. I kept them with H. Pissiticus in a 125 gallon tank and they seemed alot like standard Urau's as far as water quality goes. Mine did get stressed very easily especially after water changes for some reason. Mine were healthy and seemed to be strong. I got mine from Jeff Rapps and like I said they weren't cheap. I would do them again for sure. Spectacular when older and mine weren't picky about food.

Thanks for the info, I saw they're for sale a fish shop and thought they looked quite nice. Price was decent but wondered about their temperment because they'd be living with O's and JD's and 2 convicts.

Don't mix them with your current fish. They are much more sensitive then regular uaru. The fish you currently have like hard water and Uaru fernandezyepezi require lower ph's and softer water. If you put them in with your current fish they will get picked on, stress and break out in ick and die or just get picked to death.

You should definately pass unless you can give them there own tank and meet there water requirements. otherwise you are just going to waste a bunch of money.

Oki doki, it wasn't that I was planning on buying them - I was just more curious about the species and didn't get the chance to do much reading on them so thought people here would certainly be able to give the best on hand experience as well.

Thanks :)
