Hey! I have a 75 gallon tank I was growing out 4 tank raised uaru, and 2 severums. The severums are about 3.5 inches still good but none of the Uarus made it past 2.5 inches. (3 month)
PH is about 7, nitrate barely any but there. Temperature 80 degrees.
I have an fx4, but I lowered the flow with a spray bar. Why did the UArus not make it? Too big of tank, filter? I want to buy some big ones but they are non existent online. Want to order another batch online but I don’t know :(

What species of Uaru?
The panda Uaru need pH of about 5, black water, and no hardness., and minimum 100 gallons.
Even the normal Uaru require a lot more space.
How long been step, was it properly cycled? ,

, these are the regular one and tank raised according to the seller. They are only in the 75 gallon because they were 1.5 inch, it’s cycled because I have used as a growout for my main tank for about a year, these are the only that didn’t make it. I fed vegetables and all that as well.

Aquarium too big…..I very much doubt it. A guess (not more) is they were outcompeted by the Severums.
One of the Severum is a bit dominant but they all did eat. Do you think the dominance caused them to slowly stress and they slowly died? He wasn’t chasing all day, but he would occasionally nip if they got close.
3.5 inch the Severum is not quite big enough for display may have to give him away then, I really like uaru

Up your water changes and/or add carbon. Larger fish will release growth inhibiting hormones to maintain their dominance. Also, target feed your uaru if they’re not getting enough food

To me, a 75 gal tank, is only big enough for the severum, and maybe some dither fish.
I believe most aquarists vastly unrated the size or there aquariums, over stock tanks.
I collect my own fish, and in this space below, would would expect few.

I think it’s a misunderstanding, this is a grow out tank for 1inch fish
,they will go in a much bigger tank in my basement once they reach maybe 3-4 inches. Would like to just buy 4 inch uaru but can’t find them for sale at this size
