uaru or severum

first scenario: I have my choice between 2x uaru amphiacanthoides or a red severum.

the red severum looks like this

which would u guys pick?



second scenario: a show quality red severum like this:

What would u guys do for each situation?
 
The Uaru is nice looking but I am a Severum man myself.
 
hard choice bro they are both great looking fish it all depends on what "look" you have going in your tank , what are some other fish you have in there ? if you want color add the severums but if you already have colorful fish then I would add uara
 
What are your other fish? If you have room for 5 uaru that would look cool and they like to be in groups. But if not i would go for the severum and the first one. It's fun to grow them out. I'm thinking of getting the same fish they are on aquabid? You should get it and tell me what you think. :)

I don't like the superreds that are scary red I like the orange ones better.
 
I think it depends a lot on the size of the tank and the other fish you have. Uaru grow large, so you'll need a big tank for two of them plus other tankmates. A single severum probably wouldn't grow as large, and there'd only be one of them.
 
man those are all nice looking though,good luck on that one,Ive only had sevs so I dont want to give you weak advice.
 
Do you have any plants? If you like the plants, go severum (50/50 chance). If you don't, go Uaru (100/100 chance you plants will be eaten). I have both in the same tank. The Uaru prefer groups but I keep mine alone and is very happy and healthy...

Uaru IMO are less common and more interesting but do grow larger so a larger tank is needed but worth it. Some of my severums are semi-aggressive, the Uaru is not. Just a few things to consider. ;)
